“The best simit in Batıkent. I buy it a few times a week. Sometimes it is warm and soft, sometimes it is too dry and cold, and it is not the right balance.”

“It's a fantastic business, perfect in every way. As a customer since it opened, I can say that they have the best simit (Turkish bagel) and bread in Ankara, and their cakes and desserts are always fresh. Kudos to them!”

“FIRST OF ALL, I RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYONE. The friendly and sincere shopkeepers offer incredibly delicious and generous portions for the price, satisfying both the eyes and the stomach. Compared to many other places, the chicken pilaf was fresh and delicious. The tantuni was also very good. I would like to thank Chef Emrah for his attention, care, and cleanliness. In this day and age, a simit and ayran cost 50 TL, and at this place you can eat delicious tantuni for 120 TL. What more could you want? I recommend you try it…”

“The authentic Ankara simit (sesame bagel) is baked in a wood-fired oven, and no matter what time I go, it's always warm and delicious until noon. The prices are reasonable, and the Ramadan pide (flatbread) is amazing... They've also started making minced meat pide during Ramadan. We tried it; the dough was very thin and soft, not dry and hard at the edges like some other pide shops make. Their service is top-notch.”

“The most delicious simit (Turkish bagel) in Batikent is here. For breakfast, they have everything from boiled eggs to cheese, olives, and pastries.”

“We went there with my wife and child after Iftar on February 27th. Despite the Ramadan rush, the service was excellent. We ordered simit katmer (a type of Turkish pastry) with chocolate in the middle; it was for two people but easily shared among three. Two slices of ice cream and pistachios were served as complimentary treats with the tea. They have a menu on their website, and the prices are quite reasonable considering the service and taste. It's hard to find a business like this these days. The taste was also very satisfying. I recommend it to everyone.”

“The music is great, the service is good, and the mezes are excellent. The Cretan dip, atom (quite spicy), black-eyed peas, and tzatziki were all successful. The pastrami hummus was very good, the sea bass simit could have been better. It's one of the better places in the area.”

“We've been buying our cakes from Pelikan for years; the chocolate, praline, pistachio, and fruit flavors are all fantastic. Even in winter, I'll stop by just to enjoy a 15-20 minute drink of sahlep (a traditional Turkish hot drink). Their Kandil simit (a type of sesame bread) is legendary. I've been satisfied with every product I've bought from them so far. I wholeheartedly recommend them 😊”

“I would like to thank Döndü Hanım and Halise Hanım for their warm welcome and friendly attitude despite the morning chill. The simit and poğaçalar (Turkish bagels and pastries) are always fresh. I stop by every morning.”
